Pull & Slide Cases
Pull and slide mechanisms are used in two main applications.
- Freestanding option with solid ceiling and slide mechanism top and bottom
- Slide mechanism at the bottom option, allowing for a glass top
Option 1
This is a heavy duty sliding door used on the freestanding case design. This is used for large doors where there is insufficient space for a hinged door.
Option 2
This is where a glass top is required but the case is too large for a lift-off mechanism. This is the most minimal case design and is perfect where natural lighting or gallery lighting can be used to shine through the glass top. It can be created as a stand-alone floor standing case with glass on 5 sides giving a simple, clear view of the objects.
Shelving
Shelves can be suspended from steel rods fixed to the glass top. We can also supply bespoke plinths to suit.
Lighting
Typically these cases are used with external lighting, but internal lighting is available as discreet led strips, lighting posts or uplighters set into the base. We can incorporate lighting into plinths such as backlit acrylic panels.
Silica gel
Silica gel is typically under the case, however it can be fitted into bespoke plinths within the case.
Security
Two Abloy locks are used in the bottom and can be suited to any combination, giving the museum sole authorisation to buy additional keys in the future. Various thicknesses of glass can be used depending on the requirements, but standard glass is 11.5mm anti-bandit laminated with an opti-white finish.
