Buxton Museum
Designer: Redman Design
Buxton Museum, in the heart of the tranquil Peak District, required a refurbishment to transform their existing museum into an immersive experience for visitors. Showcasing over 1,200 artefacts, we had to manufacture modern display cases which worked effectively within the small space of the museum.
Working closely with fit-out specialists The Hub, our creative flair came to fore with this project. With a depth of industry expertise, we used our combined skills to create a diverse range of 23 high-quality display cases, including a 3-metre-tall case and an impressive set of completely bespoke 5-metre wide glass top freestanding cases. As part of this design, we had to consider creating these with easy access and provide all materials for Oddy testing to meet conservation requirements.
Occasionally a project faces logistical challenges. In this case, we were without any on-site storage and had to organise and efficiently work around several smaller deliveries for the cases. Despite this, we delivered the project without any compromise and as an adaptable company, we always strive to solve any problems that arise with effective solutions.
