What’s in a name ?
Our inspiration and aspirations come from the Bauhaus movement. A collective of artists and designers that had a lasting effect on architecture and industrial design.
Bauhaus designs are characterized by clean lines, simple, useful shapes with little or no decoration, simple colors, and rational use of modern materials such as glass, and metal.
It helps remind us that beautiful design can also have practicality, function and quality at the heart of every decision.
We’ve come a long way…
Starting in 2013 Glasshaus has been building conservation, museum grade display cases for museums up and down the country and further afield such as South Africa, Norway, Qatar, Africa, Germany, France, Ireland.
Originally in a rented unit we had our own designs for extrusions, but had to buy in the glass cut to size. After feeling frustration with glass suppliers in general, we invested in glass processing equipment and haven’t looked back since. We can now control the cutting tolerances ensuring we can meet those 0.1 aer rates, and we can guarantee deadlines for our clients. No more supply issues out of our control.
Over the years, we have refined our designs and come up with more innovative systems for every display case scenario. In addition to this, we are always happy to work with our clients and to come up with one off bespoke cases, whether its with steel, aluminium, curved glass, invisible locks, or anything else that we get asked ! We even have a 3D printer to manufacture one off solutions or R&D new components.
Since 2013 we bought the workshop, installed a full mezzanine, and expanded the team both in the office and shop floor and are loving building display cases more than ever !

Our approach is professional but friendly and our variety of in-house skills means that we have the designers and manufacturing experts to build whatever display case you’re looking for. We spend all day, every day working with designers to help create beautiful display cases.
